Still Life
Witten loved pears and daisies, sometimes set against a patterned carpet or other pattern, as Vuillard might do. Some charming floral and fruit still-lifes are in various collections. After Bissier-influenced paintings, Witten often absorbed identifiable images into fluid abstract washes. A limited remainder of the artist’s output of still-lifes is available.
